Welcome back… to the second half of the course! That’s right, we’re in Week 4, and already you’ve learned two essential steps of tap dance, Flaps and Shuffles. Great job!
This week, we’re going to learn lots of fun combinations, including Dig Heel Toe Heel and Step Toe Hop, which are super cute. We’ll also learn a new step called Cramp Roll, plus Tap Box Step and Tap Grapevine. Then we learn our first turn: Toe Heel Turn! This week’s dance is to the Rebbetzin Tap song, “Apples & Honey,” from our Jewish Holiday Celebration DVD. Lots of great stuff coming up!
Thought for the week:
Greatness isn’t a result of natural talent. It comes from hard work and sticking with it, so keep it up!
Class 1: Dig Heel Toe Heel & Cramp Roll
We did Flaps. We did Shuffles. Amazing! In this class, we’re going to learn new a new combination and step to add to our repertoire! The combination is called Dig Heel Toe Heel and the step is called Cramp Roll. Let the fun begin!
Class 2: Step Toe Hop & Toe Heel Turn
Week 4 continues with more combinations and steps. It just keeps getting better and better! Our first combination is Step Toe Hop. Then we learn a few new steps: Tap Box Step, Tap Grapevine, and our very first turn, the Toe Heel Turn! Then we put them together with a 4-part combination. It’s gonna be good!
Class 3: Dance Routine #4
I’m so excited about this week’s dance routine, which is to the Rosh Hashanah song “Apples & Honey” from my DVD “Jewish Holiday Celebration.” It’s written by my husband, David Bar-Cohn, and sung as a duet by me and Tikvah Slifkin. It’s totally cute – you’ll love it!
Steps for this dance include: Dig Heel Toe Heel, Grapevine, Toe Heel Turn, Tap Box Step, Cramp Roll, 3 Flaps, Step Toe Hop, Shuffle Step, Shuffle Ball Change. Can you believe you can do all those? Amazing!
Bonus: Watch the Apples & Honey song from the DVD!
